Best Marketing Initiative

From the offset, a strong, persistent marketing drive became a key element to the White Horse's success. Julian and his team have used social media to promote the pub as the 'Channel Swimmers Pub' daily using #FeaturedChannelSwimmerOfTheDay on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

They post daily photos of new drinks, visiting customers, themselves modelling lost property, food, staff and even the poor Draymen have had to pose for pictures.

Julian even took what was a negative review online which referred to 'posers at the bar' and created a new hashtag, #PoseursAtTheBar, encouraging visitors to pose and take selfies at the bar.

Bulls Head Inn, Brinklow

Daniel and Kaye Lengden

Daniel and Kaye have thought of a new and innovative way of encouraging customers to visit in the quiet months of January and February by giving out a series of money off vouchers in closed envelopes in the run up to Christmas only to be opened when returning to the pub in the New Year.

Lion Hotel, Treorchy

Adrian Emmett

Adrian has been running a live music festival called ‘Treorchy Festival’ on the last Saturday in July since he took over the pub seven years ago which he has worked hard to expand to each Bank Holiday Sunday.
