Best Community Hub Finalists

The Keel Row, Seaton Delaval

Sharon and Kenny Herron

The Keel Row is a busy rural destination pub that caters for it's local community and beyond. Sharon and Kenny believe their pub really does appeal to everyone!

The Royal Oak, Winsford

Mark Bradley

The Royal Oak in Exmoor sits looking over the village green in Winsford and is described as the beating heart of the village in every way.

This award recognised those publicans who make a real difference to the communities that they serve. It’s more than just pulling great pints, offering wonderful food or creating a welcoming atmosphere.

It's about real heart and going above and beyond the usual call of duty for a publican to bring people together and have a positive impact on the local community.

The community events, initiatives or activities don't have to be big; just positive: championing football teams, showcasing local art on your walls, raising money for a charity, offering a meeting space to local committees, or even acting as the local post office are all brilliant examples of being a Community Hero.
